Coni-Con

Illustration of a coliseum with pennant flags flying above. Each spring, our sixth and seventh grade students take on a Problem-Based Learning unit where part of their final product is an original graphic novel - done individually, in partners, and small groups - about decision making (sixth grade) and important historical, scientific, and cultural events (seventh grade). Their work is showcased at Coni-Con in presentations that explain how they developed the theme through characterization, dialogue, small actions, and artistry. Awards related to creativity, artistry, originality, and growth are given out at the end of the event.

Coni-Con 2019

For 2019, students presented their final product during their ELA classes and had the opportunity to participate in an after-school event from 4 – 6 pm on Friday, May 10th.

The after school event was a place to present final products (graphic novels, poetry, chapter book, passion booths, and extensions), take pictures, see professionals in the field, celebrate work done, and hold a prize ceremony!
